George Washington
George
Washington was born on February 22, 1732 in Westmoreland County, Virginia, at
approximately 10:00a.m in his home.
George almost died at birth but they said he was a very strong baby.
George grew up enjoying horseback riding and fox hunting. George cut down his
mother Mary’s favorite cherry tree with an axe. George came from a big family.
George’s brother was enlisting in the army, but he died from a disease so George took his slot. At age 23
George went into the army.
George
Washington got married to woman named Martha when he was in the Army. While George
was in the Army he never got shot only his coat got shot 4 times in a row. At
one time George’s hat was shot of his head. George Washington had a lot of men
in the Army; there were about ten thousand and a lot of them died. Towards the
end it left him with eight thousand men. A lot of George’s soldiers got frostbite and
they got sick. Martha came to George’s camp site and took care of sick
soldiers. Indians came to the Boston Harbor and dropped 386 crates of tea into
the water every one was very mad.
When George
Washington retired from the Army he became president. His kids died when they were
young one died from a seizure, the other died from a disease. George Washington took his
first oath in the Federal Hall in New York City. He won president two times in
a row. George Washington was a great war general and a good president. George
died of a disease; he was buried behind his house in the Washington tomb.
George
Washington will never be forgotten, he was a hero and the First president of
the United States of America.
